It's a hammock that hangs just from one point like a hammock chair, not from two posts. A frame is another possibility, but I worry that it wouldn't have the same range of motion and well, a frame is just bulky and expensive.

I have two 4x4 posts and was told that for a hammock i would need to dig the holes 5 ft down-put the 4x4 posts in and then back fill with cement. Problem is the ground is extremely hard and I am tapping out at 4 ft. Does 5 ft seem right as far as the depth needed for a hammock?

I would like to build a pergola for hanging a hammock in the back yard. Can anybody tell me if 15ft is correct on how far apart the posts/beams should be to hang the hammock? It seems really wide to me.

So I'm thinking of buying my dad a Hammock for his upcoming birthday. We only have one tree in our backyard, which i know is not a big deal because there are hammock stands and hammock posts. My problem with that is that the shipping tends to be more expensive then the hammock or the stand/post its self!!!! Would it be wise to just purchase a large sized pole at a home improvement store and stake it to the ground as a replacement?

I need posts, not the hammock. Where can I buy them. Im looking for stores i can go to. can i get them at Target? Wal-Mart? Dicks? where? also, is it alright to leave my hammock out in the rain?

i have put them about 2ft into the ground put alittle gravel at the bottom and filled the rest of the hole with cement but as soon as you put any whight on it they just lean in. i was thinking i could expand the hole out about a foot and fill that with cement and that would help. can anyone give me any ideas. oh yea and i live in florida so my yard is alittle sandy.

My house wood so I was wondering if I can drill into it or will I electricute myself?
